Adult Sailing Course

CYC is offering an Adult Sailing course. It covers 21 hours of on-the-water and classroom instruction provided by CYC members who have successfully completed the US Sailing Basic Keelboat Instructor Certification Course. On-the-water instruction can be on the student’s boat or a CYC leased boat.

This year's sessions are:

Session 1
Fri. June 20    6 p.m - 9 p.m.
Sat. June 21   9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Thu. June 26 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Sat. June 28   9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Session 2
Mon. July 7    9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Tue. July 8    9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Wed. July 9   9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Session 3
Mon. July 21 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Tue. July 22 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Wed. July 23 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Other dates can be arranged at the mutual convenience of student and instructor.

Course cost is $350 per person on the boat provided by CYC or $250 per person on the student's boat, with a minimum of 2 students per class..

Early registration requires a $50 per person deposit with a check made out to CYC Adult Sailing. The balance must be paid in full before the first class session. To register, send the completed Registration Form to:

Each registrant will get a copy of the course book “US Sailing Basic Keelboat”. Students who study the text before the class sessions will get more out of the course.

Personal Flotation Devices, PFD’s, are required for all on-the-water sessions. You can bring your own or borrow a CYC Type III PFD.
